Evangelism Explosion for 10/10/06
What an exciting and amazing night! I had prayed that God would give them a good night - He more than answered that prayer by giving them a great night!!
Dear EE friends,
What an exciting night! The Gospel was shared 19 times resulting in 15 people who accepted Jesus, and only 4 people who rejected Him. We met 14 people who were already Christians, and 3 people who made a recommitment to Jesus. Numerous seeds were planted. Often it takes many times of hearing the Gospel for some people, before it is accepted. We are so thankful that the Lord will use us in whatever stage He chooses. Sharing His great Message is such a privilege and joy.
Bob Turner, Barbara Hall, and Ryan Reese met Taqina and her daughter, Aquila, as they went door to door in the Belhaven area. Taqina was raised Muslim but has been pursuing Jesus for the last 8 years. She thought she could work her way to heaven, but after hearing the Gospel and realizing that heaven is God's free gift to those who love Jesus, she dissolved into tears as she and her daughter prayed, thanking God, and inviting Jesus into their hearts as Lord and Savior.
Terri Wissel, Pam Smith and Toby McCarty went to Methodist Rehab.
They reported leading 5 people to Jesus. A Rehab nurse directed them to "Larry" who is paralyzed on both sides and can hardly talk. It was so touching to listen as he struggled to pronounce his words as he accepted Jesus' gift of Eternal Life.
A "way of life" experience was told tonight by Lavell and Pam Smith. They are both trainees and led 3 people to Jesus, not even on Tuesday night!!
One was an employee with Lavell, and the other two were met through a mutual friend and did not even speak English. A translator interpreted for them.
Way to go, Lavell and Pam... You don't have to wait until you get it all memorized. Share from your heart or read it to them from the track. God will bless your efforts!
Our trainees now can lead in the "introductory part" of the visits and also can lead in the "commitment part" of the presentation. They have learned the skeletal of the Gospel and will soon be filling in the gaps of this skeletal outline.
We trainers are turning more and more over to them to do each week on the visits, and they are doing so well. Please continue to pray for them.
It was indeed another great Tuesday evening. We are never disappointed.
God is so faithful and is our Great Encourager.
We are all just simple church members who are asking God to use us to spread the Word of His precious gift of salvation.
Romans 1:6
I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.
2 Corinthians 12:9
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
We all thank you for your prayers, and I want to encourage you to pray about the possibility of your joining us next semester. Tuesday night just might become your favorite night of the week too!
In His precious name and with His love,
Good night again...
Love,
Dot
