New Work Schedule!

Our new work schedule was released today during our staff meeting. The new schedule is effective on 3/20/06 and I'm going back on shift. I get to work with James. Seems like no one else wants to work with him - but I don't have a problem with doing that. I don't understand why others do. We're going to be on an 8 week rotation - meaning we work 8 weeks of days, then 8 weeks of nights, then we rotate to the opposite shift and work 8 weeks of days followed by 8 weeks of nights and then back again.

Steve didn't say anything about my promotion, but it was pretty much self-evident that something was different because I'm back on shift. No one asked - but I expect someone will go privately to Steve or Purvis and ask why I'm back on shift. At least there were no outbursts. Michele (our H/R Director) sat in on the meeting - I'm not sure why she came, since it was the first time she's done that. Maybe she was there in case any H/R type questions came up - so she could answer them. I didn't have a problem with her being there, though.

Steve has requested that we put our phones on vibrate or silent when we're at work in the Center since with so many people and most of us having a cell phone plus the phones in the Center - well, it gets crazy with all those rings. I understand and I just switched mine to hopefully vibrate - it doesn't give me an option to vibrate only or to silent from what I could see. I did turn the phone completely off during the meeting.
