Evangelism Explosion for 10/17/06
Dear EE friends,
This was another wonderful night. There were 8 professions of faith tonight and 3 other professions of faith in the last few days when our EE people made themselves available for the Lord to use.
Sunday evening, Richard Corkern visited with a FBC guard who prayed to invite Jesus into his heart. The guard said that he and his friends were trying to figure out how to get good enough so they could accept Christ. After Richard told him that Jesus came/died for sinners, the guard understood and humbly and gratefully prayed to receive the gift of salvation.
Beverly Shelton was at our FBC booth at the Fair last Thursday evening. She had two interesting visits with two individuals.
1) Beverly( an EE trainee) witnessed to a young mom with two beautiful little girls, both of whom were born out of wedlock. This young woman confided in Beverly that she was so burdened and covered by her sin. She wept deeply when Beverly shared with her. She realized that Jesus would forgive and forget her sins, if she would just give her heart to Him and let Him be Lord of her life. What a precious moment as Beverly watched this young woman begin her new life as a new person in Christ. Her spiritual birthday would be October 12, 2006. A day she will never forget.
2) Beverly also witnessed to a Jewish man who walked up to our booth at the Fair and pointing to our sign that said 'Living water', he said, " I want some of that". Beverly knew he was not asking for a cup of cool water, but really wanted to know about our Jesus. She presented the Gospel to him and was able to answer many of his questions. He was not quite ready to pray to receive Christ, but he is searching, and she was able to help him along the way...Please pray for Ronnie.
The team that led the Muslim to Jesus last week went back to do a follow-up visit tonight. The lady told the team that this had been the most wonderful week she has ever had in her entire life. No doubt, she has praised God all week for His gift of eternal life.
Two of the people tonight who prayed to receive Christ were member of the Christian Life Center. Follow-up will be done with them next week by those two teams. Perhaps they will be prospects for our membership.
Eric James, Johnnie Jamison, Heather Reese were on one team
The other team was Bob Turner, Ryan Reese, and Barbara Hall.
The other six professions of faith were at UMC in the ICU waiting room.
People there seem to be very ready to open their hearts to Jesus. This team was Terri Wissel, Pam Smith, and Toby McCarty.
As you can see, the trainees are learning more and more, and soon will be ready to present the entire Gospel with only His help. We trainers will be there if they need us, but they are about ready to take flight!
We are so happy for our trainees because we know the joy it brings to be ready and able to be used by our Lord. Whether we are planting seeds, helping with assurance, or leading a lost person to saving faith in Jesus, it is such a tremendous privilege.
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
2 Peter 3:18
Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever..
God bless you,
Love,
Dot
